Powers of Attorney

In light of government advice concerning the Corona virus we are offering all clients the opportunity to give instructions for Wills or Lasting Powers of Attorney by phone or video link wherever possible. Please contact Gail Weston by phone or by e-mailing gail.w@wmblaw.co.uk.
Most single Wills cost just £135 plus VAT (or £200 plus VAT per couple).

Supporting clients through decisions about health as well as finances.

We all know how important it is to make a Will, but what about if you became unable to manage your affairs yourself, whilst you are still alive? Should you become ill or the victim of an accident and left physically or mentally incapacitated, you family would not automatically have the authority to deal with your investments, bank accounts, your house or even your business.

You can safeguard against this situation by making a Lasting Power of Attorney, a document that enables trustworthy people to make decisions on your behalf. Preparing an LPA with our Telford solicitors will give you peace of mind about the future and leave you confident that the fate of your estate and affairs are in the most capable hands.

Professional, friendly and trustworthy, thank you for all your help.

Lasting Power of Attorney for Property and Affairs

This gives your Attorney(s) the right to make decisions concerning your financial affairs and assets, such as your house, savings, investments and business interests. It can give your Attorney wide powers to manage bank accounts, buy or sell property and receive income or benefits due to you.

Lasting Power of Attorney for Health and Welfare

This can only be used after you have lost mental capacity to make decisions regarding your personal welfare. This allows your Attorney(s) to decide such matters as where you should live, the day-to-day care you receive, and to consent to or refuse medical treatment.

WMB Law provides price options for single LPA, double LPA or a special package of Will(s) with LPA(s). Should you wish us to prepare both types of LPA for you at the same time we will prepare your second LPA for a discounted price.

It is essential to choose who you would like to act on your behalf with care. When making an LPA it is a good idea to appoint a second Attorney to make sure this power is not misplaced. WMB Law can act as a second Attorney to better safeguard your interests. We can also act as a certificate provider, an independent party who certifies that you are mentally capable and understand the implications and scope of the LPA you are making.

If you would like to discuss making one or more Lasting Powers of Attorney and further ways in which we can be of legal assistance, please call our Telford office on 01952 291100 or fill out the enquiry form below to book a free initial call or meeting.

Safeguarding against the future is clear and easy with WMB Law.
