Prison Law

Supporting prisoners and their families through difficult times.

Serving a custodial sentence can be a daunting and lonely experience. Lots of issues arise whilst serving the sentence, which can lead to early release or the addition of extra days and often the legal matters can be overwhelming when you are already in such an emotionally demanding situation.

The care our clients receive throughout their criminal prosecution does not simply end with the court case. WMB Law’s support and advice is still available to prisoners serving sentences, facing adjudications, discipline, parole and recall amongst other areas.

Understanding the need for friendly guidance and support, our Telford solicitors believe that you need not feel alone during this time. As well as providing premier legal expertise, our lawyers recognise that the implications of your case may be life changing for both you and your family. It is vital to have experienced help when you are in this position.

Your services are very good and Jenni Hancocks did me proud in Court.

Members of WMB Law have extensive experience in the field of Prison Law and have represented in the most serious and high profile cases, including murder, terrorist offences, serious fraud, and sexual offences.

Towards the end of a custodial sentence, we can help in relation to parole for both determinate and non-determinate sentences. We also have expertise in oral parole hearing, including for lifers, where our advocacy assistance can help achieve early release. You may be serving a long sentence, in which case you will need an experienced, friendly solicitor with whom you can build a relationship of trust and who will commit themselves to your case.

Prison Law advice may be funded under the Criminal Defence Service scheme, which provides publicly funded assistance where the case has sufficient merits for the individual, and where they do not have significant private funds of their own. This means that, in almost all cases, clients can benefit from our advice and assistance free of charge, subject to the completion of some simple forms. Should this not be the case, WMB Law may also represent prisoners on a private paying fixed fee basis with no hidden costs.
